Under the direction of the RN circulator as dictated by the standards in the Medicare Conditions of Participation for surgical services, assists surgical team during operative procedures. Arranges and inventories sterile set up for operations. Assists in preparing, moving and positioning patients. Performs sterile scrub procedures and related activities such as preparation and draping the patient and operative area. Passes instruments, sutures, sponges and supplies in accordance with hospital policy and procedure. Participates in the turnover of operating rooms.
Qualifications: Through knowledge of a specialized and technical field of Surgical Technology. Equivalent high school and certificate of completion from an accredited surgical technologist program. May be required to travel/work at other sites: Univ, Mem, Hahn. etc.
Graduate of accredited program of Surgical Technonogy required BLS required 2-4 years of current scrub technologist experience preferred CST preferred.
