Job Description
As one of the many women's health services of the Cambridge Health Alliance, The Cambridge Birth Center opened its doors in December 1997 in a renovated Victorian home. Our center's intimate atmosphere provides a truly homelike experience for women and their families who are looking for an alternative to a traditional hospital birth. We are recognized by the American Association of Birth Centers and the American College of Nurse-Midwives.
In this role, qualified candidate will be responsible for the practice of midwifery as outlined in the Policies Specific to and Scope of Practice for Certified Nurse Midwives as established By CHA. Will provide midwifery services to patients on the maternity unit and Cambridge Birth Center, ambulatory sites and on-call schedule as needed.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates must possess the following:
-Certified Nurse Midwife licensed in MA with 2 years experience preferred.
-NRP & CPR certified
-DEA & MA controlled substance certification
-Must be able to physically negotiate clinical site, possess strength and endurance to perform physically for long periods of time, (up to 8 hours), i.e., walking, lifting up to 25 lbs, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, kneeling, standing, reaching, squatting.
-Must have the physical dexterity and psychomotor skills to respond adequately and appropriately to routine and emergent patient care needs in the clinical setting.
