Located in Boston, Dana Farber Cancer Institute brings together world renowned clinicians, innovative researchers and dedicated professionals, allies in the common mission of conquering cancer, HIV/AIDS and related diseases. Combining extremely talented people with the best technologies in a genuinely positive environment, we provide compassionate and comprehensive care to patients of all ages; we conduct research that advances treatment; we educate tomorrow’s physician/researchers; we reach out to underserved members of our community; and we work with amazing partners, including other Harvard Medical School-affiliated hospitals.
Position available for a Research Scientist to participate in our DARPA sponsored research program. This scientist will design and construction of new phage antibody display libraries. S/he will subsequently isolate phage antibodies through antibody panning/selection to identify new human antibodies against different proteins of interest including affinity ranking, and in vitro phage antibody characterization. S/he will then design and carry out the in vitro assays to test biological activity of the selected phage antibodies. The applicant must be a self-starter, highly motivated team player. S/he is expected to work independently, well versed in the related literature, and contribute intellectually to his/her research program.
Advanced degree preferred or 6-9 years research experience post undergraduate degree in molecular biology and immunology. The candidate must have prior hands-on experience with molecular cloning and library construction and/or experience with antibody selection using phage display. Applicant with strong background in both molecular and cell biology techniques including production of recombinant proteins in E. coli as well as subsequent biochemical and immunological analysis are preferred. The individual is also expected to be able to parallel processing (good time management skills), well organized, and pay careful attention to experimental details. Supervisory experience is a plus.
