Job Description
Under the direction of the Manager of HIM/PARC, performs the tasks of registration, admission, insurance verification and other select duties associated with inpatient, outpatient and Emergency Room services at Clinton Hospital. Serves as the Emergency Room Receptionist. Serves as the Hospital Telephone Operator during the overnight hours of 11 pm to 7 am.
Qualifications: Basic data entry skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast paced environment. Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with patients, families, staff insurance companies and physicians. Ability to maintain calm and carry out duties during tense situations.
Required: High school graduate/GED. English speaking, reading and writing skills. Knowledge of medical terminology. Familiarity with data entry. Must be available for a minimum of 2 shifts per month and 2 holiday shifts per calendar year.
Preferred: Bilingual
