Reporting to the Associate Vice President, Human Resources Operations and working closely with the CHRO, provides strategic leadership in the planning, design, development, implementation, and measurement of total rewards programs inclusive of compensation, benefits and wellness across the UMass Memorial Health Care System. Ensures philosophy and programs are in alignment with the health care systems culture, mission, values and strategies as well as being competitive, cost-effective, and compliant with federal and state requirements and collective bargaining agreements. The position is also responsible for the development of talent within the total rewards functions and the management of vendors, consultants and brokers.
Qualifications: Requires B.S. or B.A., in Human Resources Management or related area and 15 years of related experience. MBA degree and professional certification preferred. Possesses a thorough and broad working knowledge of total rewards principles, programs and practices and the ability to develop and effectively manage programs for a large, complex health care system.
Must be a strong leader of people with well-developed team building, influencing skills and stature to effectively address sensitive issues. Must possess highly developed communication skills and have the presence and confidence to represent the organization with a variety of audiences. Ability to be decisive, make tough decisions and lead through change and do so with a team of leaders who are encouraged to share all points of view to ensure decisions are well informed.
