Job Summary:
The Cancer Vaccine Center (CVC) at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medicsl School, focuses on discovery and development of products that enhance the immune system's natural defence against infectious disease and cancers. We seek highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals who will work within an interdisciplinary team comprising computational scientists, bioinformaticians, physicians, and biomedical scientists. The Bioinformatics Core Group at the CVC develops software applications in support of immunological research and vaccine development. The main projects include integration of multi-source data for knowledge discovery from antigen databases, development of software applications for simulation of laboratory experiments, computational support for basic and applied immunology, and development of diagnostic devices. Successful candidate will be actively involved in data collection and management, database development and maintenance, software application development and implementation, and computational support for immunology and vaccinology focusing on infectious disease and cancer. The expected start of work is in the second half of 2011.
Job Qualifications:
M.D. or Ph.D. required. Fresh graduates with appropriate background will also be considered. Experience with one or more of immunology/vaccinology, genomics or proteomics, biological data management, computational modelling of biological systems, or statistical tools, is desirable. Good organizational and communication skills and ability to work as a team member are essential requirements.
