Job Description

Prepares patient for exams as required and insures patient comfort and modesty at all times. Performs Computerized Axial Tomography Scan procedures according to department procedure using standard C.A.T. Scan equipment to apply prescribed ionizing radiation in order to assist physicians in the screening and diagnosis of patient illness and injury for patients of all ages. Performs related tasks such as assisting patients in positioning for correct anatomical exposure, maintaining order and cleanliness of work area and performing routine clerical tasks. Works as technologist and performs duties in other areas and/or modalities as necessary.


Qualifications: Completion of a 24-month AMA approved course of study from a School of Radiologic Technology. ARRT certification in Radiology and RTR licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is required. Primary and advanced registration in radiography and Computerized Tomography through the American Registry for Radiologic Technologists as well as two years formal training in an accredited School of Radiologic Technology, or military training in the United States Armed Forces is required. CT certification is strongly preferred within 1 year of employment. IV credentialing and maintenance of BLS certification is required. Current, valid license from the Department of Public Health to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
ARRT registry required, MA License required, CT Certification required, min 3 years experience in CT required, Working knowledge of GE 32 slice and med Rad injector preferred, Imagecast, Meditech and PACS experience preferred. Excellent patient care and communication skills required.
