This position is responsible for identifying and registering patients with cancer. Reviewing and analyzing hospital records and other medical reports for relevant cancer data; determining and classifying demographics, primary site, histology, stage and treatment on all cancer sites; and performing annual patient follow-up. Data collection will meet the standards of the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons, the Massachusetts State Cancer Registry, the DF/PCC Cancer Registry, Disease Centers, clinicians, researchers, and administrators.



Job Qualifications:

High School Diploma plus some college courses; Bachelors Degree preferred. Certified Tumor Registrar experience required. Formal course work or knowledge of anatomy, physiology and medical terminology. Minimum 2 years abstracting experience and able to abstract complex cancer sites. Require experience working with computers for data entry, report preparation, and internet use. Prefer experience with IMPAC Metriq software.



Schedule:

Full Time 40 hrs. Mon-Fri. This position is located at 27 Drydock, South Boston
