TheDepartment of Pediatric Oncology serves chiildren with cancer. The Clinical Administrative Support Specialist (CASS)schedules complex multi-disciplinary appointments, may greet patients, may manage the patient flow and completes some clerical work. The CASS serves as a vital communication link between patients, families, visitors and staff. He/she assists with the coordination of support activities that contribute to the smooth operation of the clinical area. The Clinical Administrative Support Specialist actively contributes to the Quality Assessment and Improvement program. The position requires demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail, thoroughness, practical decision-making, excellent communication skills, excellent customer service skills and a commitment to team work. Indirect patient care activities support efficient clinic operations and may include ordering and stocking of patient education materials. Job Qualifications:
  1. Associate's degree or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred. Two to four years experience required.
  2. One year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  3. Familiarity with medical terminology and knowledge of computers preferred.
  4. Excellent organizational, decision making, communication, customer serviceand interpersonal skills.
  5. Ability to work as an effective member of an interdisciplinary team.
  6. Ability to function in a busy work setting and respond to requests from patients, families, and staff.
