Reports to the CFO & Sr. Vice President, managing Emerson Practice Associates (EPA) office based owned physician practices.
Responsible for operations, personnel, billing and compliance for the office based owned physician practices.
Assist clinicians in achieving practice goals
Recruit and supervise the non-clinical personnel
Oversight of billing, receivables and collections
Manage and support the practice management/EMR system
Communicate in an effective/professional manner with the physician and other staff to ensure goals are
comprehended and attained
Work in collaboration with Sales & Marketing to identify and implement mechanisms to secure new patient volume
Assure that service standards are being achieved.
Approve continuing education and leadership development for clinic personnel
Ensure that company policies and procedures are administered and followed
Assure that the practice achieves and maintains licensure or accreditation with the appropriate entities where
Develop and manage budgets for each practice
Prepare and review monthly performance reports for each practice
Associates degree in business, finance or health care administration preferred
Two to five years of work experience, with management and staff responsibility, in a medical office or related
business environment desirable
Licensure and/or Certification
Knowledge of managed care, claims submission, and patient collections desirable
Experience filing insurance claims and understanding reimbursement requirements desirable
Experience with patient scheduling and patient flow in a medial practice, desirable
Experience with practice management & EMR software desirable
Knowledge of medical office operations, safety and AAAHC, HIPAA and OSHA requirements desirable
Knowledge of clinical billing and collections laws and regulations including CPT and ICD-9 desirable
Indirect Supervision of Physician Practices personnel.
