This position is responsible for the accounting, control and reporting functions of the Payroll and Accounts Payable departments. Also assists the Senior Director of Financial Operations and the Controller in the planning, development and implementation of new or modified accounting systems; in the planning, coordination and preparation for audits; in keeping abreast of all regulations and standards for accounting, and internal policies for compliance related to assigned responsibilities such as wage and price guidelines, union contracts, property leases, competitive bids and shared service agreements; and in the design and maintenance of financial reports.
Accounting or business degree with a concentration in accounting; seven to ten years of accounting experience, of which five to seven years in a supervisory position with extensive exposure to accounts payable and employee payroll functions.
Ability to manage, control and supervise the activities of Payroll and Accounts Payable; possesses technical and professional accounting skills; ability to develop and maintain computer-based, automated accounting systems, accounting procedures and control, and accounting staff at various levels of experience; familiarity with accounting regulations and knowledge of policies and procedures related to responsibilities; has the appropriate oral and written communication skills to train, supervise and advise others.
