Job Description
Under the direction of the Director of Plant Operations, manages programs to develop, maintain, and improve all hospital buildings grounds and their fixtures, furnishings, and equipment. Provides for an efficient and uninterrupted supply of electricity and gas and distribution of utilities from the high and low pressure boilers and the chiller plant. Through staff of employees and contracted personnel manages the maintenance and repair of all buildings and grounds of the hospital and the repair of all operating equipment, systems, and machinery. Develops short and long-range plans and objectives within the scope of departmental and hospital-wide policies and goals. Manages multiple ongoing improvement projects and programs using contractors, engineering service companies and consultants. College degree or equivalent, including specialty courses with emphasis on trades. Experience in managing an Engineering or Maintenance Department required. Hospital experience preferred. Experience with boiler plants, air-handling units, plumbing, electrical work is preferred. Knowledge of computerized work orders and preventative maintenance systems preferred. Knowledge of regulatory agencies as the impact the operation of the hospital.
