The individual will play an important role in DFCIs technology transfer and business development efforts as a member of the Office of Research and Technology Ventures (ORTV). ORTV is responsible for licensing of intellectual property, establishing of relationships with industry and generation of research funding. Specific duties include: establishing rapport with faculty; assessing intellectual property potential of research results; making and defending patenting decisions; establishing and maintaining industry contacts; helping create business development opportunities; and negotiating term sheets, licensing and agreement terms.
BS in chemistry/biology degree required, MS or PhDdegree preferred. Previous experience (three to five) years with academic technology transfer and/or biotechnology business development is required; experience with both is preferred. Strong negotiation and communication skills are required. Knowledge of intellectual property is very desirable.
