This position is responsible for performing various animal husbandry duties in conventional, immunodeficient and transgenic/knockout rodent colonies. The ability to perform all duties while strictly adhering to established SOPs and in compliance with local, state, federal and institutional guidelines and regulations is a requirement. Basic computer skills are needed for computerized record keeping in accordance with established procedures, (i.e. ViewPort system for vivarium management, animal holding room census data collection, and computerized autoclave and cage wash logs.
High school diploma or GED certification is required. One year of experience is preferred but eager candidates without experience will be considered. AALAS technician certification at the ALAT or LAT levels is preferred but not required.
