Located in Boston, MA, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, a Comprehensive Cancer Center designated by the National Cancer Institute, an affiliate of Harvard Medical School,is committed to providing expert, compassionate care to children and adults with cancer while advancing the understanding, diagnosis, treatment cure, and prevention of cancer and related diseases.

The Inpatient Medical Oncology Physician Assistant is responsible for assisting the Program attending physicians in the medical management of inpatient hematologic (including BMT) and solid tumor oncology patients. Patients are admitted for elective chemotherapy as well as complications of cancer and other general medical conditions. The PA has expert knowledge of inpatient general medicine and has been exposed to oncology preferably in the inpatient setting. Incorporating knowledge of general internal medicine and medical complications unique to oncology patients will be emphasized in day to day management of patients. In addition, the PA is an intricate member of our inpatient PA services and will have the opportunity to collaborate and cross train with all of our inpatient teams. The PA also works closely with the physician and nursing staff in developing and coordinating a plan of care designed to meet the physical, psychological and social needs of patients and their families. Job Qualifications

a. NCCPA certified
b. Graduate of AAPA/NCCPA accredited Physician Assistant Studies Program
c. License as a Physician Assistant in Massachusetts
d. Maintain current DEA and Massachusetts Controlled Substance Licenses
e. Complete 100 hours of CME according to national and state regulations during each 2 year period of employment.



Schedule

40 hours per week.
