This critical role will function as a member of a multi-disciplinary team of scientists in a fast-paced, cutting-edge project centered on understanding resistance and sensitivity to anti-cancer therapeutics with emphases on therapeutic discoveries.
The successful candidate will fully participate in cutting-edge science,and be involved in experimental design and molecular and cellular biology experiments with a special emphasis on the genetic basis of sensitivity and resistance of cancer cells to clinically relevant treatments. The position willinvolve the use of molecular biology techniques such as tissue culture, molecular cloning, and drug sensitivity experiments. The individual will haveopportunities to participate in data analysis and be involved in researchpublications. He/she will interact and collaborate closely with other scientists, biologists, chemists and computational biologists. This position represents an outstanding career developmentopportunity for both long-term research associates as well as recentlygraduated science majors with aspirations of graduate or medical schooltraining.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES
Designs and carries out small, focused independent projects and joins in team efforts for larger scale experiments.

  • Operates and maintains laboratory equipment to complete investigations.
  • Prepares, orders, and maintains stocks of necessary reagents, solutions and supplies.
  • Documents, compiles, and analyzes experimental data. Reports data in oral and written reports.
  • Attends team meetings to share results, plan projects and experiments
  • Maintains and improves technical knowledge base.
  • Other related tasks as required.


Job Qualifications

A B.S or B.A. in biological science is required with at least 1 year oflaboratory research experience in molecular biology or related field. Thecandidate will be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and possess excellentorganizational and analytical skills. Excellent communication skills arerequired as well as the ability to work well in a collaborative andinterdisciplinary team environment.



Schedule

This is a full time, 40 hour per week position.
