High School diploma, pharmacy technician experience in a hospital setting/IV admixture experience preferred, registered pharmacy technician required. Certified pharmacy technician preferred.
The pharmacy technician in this position will provide technical support, under the direction of a registered pharmacist, to ambulatory oncology patients being treated in the infusion center. Responsibilities include: preparation of IV admixtures (chemotherapy, investigational medicationsa, antiemetics, hydrations etc), managing pharmaceutical and investigational drug inventory, managing supplies and performing various quality control tasks. The technician will be working in both the central IV admixture area and the research pharmacy supporting the investigational drug service. The technician will also assist in performing various quality control tasks.
Monday through Friday rotating day shifts.
Some evenings, weekends and holidays may be required.
