The Senior Director, Nursing and Clinical Services, Satellite and Network Affiliates is responsible for the effective delivery of quality patient care and clinical trials and the oversight of daily operations of the satellites and network affiliates. S/he works collaboratively with all members of the interdisciplinary leadership team and collaborates with interdepartmental colleagues at various entities (DFCI, BWH, local hospitals and private practices) to ensure optimal patient and family-focused care. In addition to overseeing the practice of nursing, this individual spearheads major Nursing and Institute initiatives across the network that are patient and family centered and have an impact on care delivery, the conduct of clinical trials, and overall clinical operations with an emphasis on clinical quality, safety, and collaboration/teamwork. S/he works collaboratively with the Network Medical Director and the Director of Network Operations in strategic and financial planning and management, as well as clinical operations and personnel management. The Senior Nurse Director works collaboratively with Nurse and Physician Leaders at all network locations and with his/her peers within the Nurse Executive Committee. The Nursing Directors of each satellite or network affiliate report directly to the Senior Director. In addition, the Senior Director is responsible for ensuring nursing and clinical services practice, policies and procedures meet DFCI and other regulatory requirements. The Senior Director is responsible for developing clinical program enhancements and ensuring that the appropriate expertise is engaged to maintain standards across all services within the network.The Senior Director also represents the network’s interests at the Longwood Campus and assures integration between the Longwood campus and local sites

Job Qualifications

Current Massachusetts state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
RN with a Master's degree is required
Extensive clinical and nursing leadership / management experience in an ambulatory care center is required. Ambulatory oncology experience in an academic medical center is highly valued.
Professional certification and active participation in professional organizations required.
A successful track record of patient-centered problem solving, results-oriented leadership and strong and effective interdisciplinary and inter-professional team building and collaboration.
Outstanding communication, coordination, negotiation and integration skills. Inclusive problem solver and effective decision maker
Articulate and dynamic leader with the ability to influence others to become actively and enthusiastically involved in progressive changes in professional practice.
Sound financial skills, including the ability to develop and monitor operating and capital budgets and perform appropriate variance analysis.
Demonstrated ability to mentor individuals and to appropriately delegate.
