Under the supervision of the Director of Business Planning, this position will play a key role in the annual update of the Institute's Multi-Year Financial Plan (MYFP). Responsibilities will require a deep understanding of the Institute's overall business and research operations such that accurate financial projections may be prepared. The Senior Financial Analyst will provide high level and in-depth strategic business analysis to all levels of management and will work closely and with all levels of management across the Institute.
-Assist with the annual update of the MYFP including but not limited to: update readiness; preparation, distribution, and tracking of assumption packages; incorporation of financial data; reconciliation and review of data and quantification of financial impact; preparation for review meetings with senior leadership and finance committee chair, execution on follow-up points/open items; and maintenance of real-time work papers and open item lists
-Working closely with the Manager of Business Planning, assist in the preparation of IRR, ROI and other related ad hoc financial analyses to support programmatic changes at the Institute, including service expansion and other new initiatives
-Prepare detailed analytics for ad hoc reports and special projects as assigned
-Assist senior management with the compilation of financial presentations as requested
-Assist in the development of the annual operating budget for certain target areas as requested
-Handle complex, iterative and multi-part analyses and prepare summaries of important points
-Engage in problem solving and decision-making and assume a leadership role in helping others to resolve issues
-Assist in the development, implementation, and operation of systems and processes to support the activities and goals of the Financial Planning (FP) department
-Serve as a resource for other junior level staff within the department
-Immediately bring to the attention of the Director issues, concerns and problems which may hinder achievement of deadlines and/or accomplishment of responsibilities
-Performs other similar and related duties as required or directed
-Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or related field
-Minimum of three to five years of related work experience in the healthcare industry
-CPA strongly preferred
-Must be able to function independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities
-Detailed knowledge of compilation of financial projections, Proforma financial analyses and analytical procedures
-Must have superior interpersonal and communication skills to effectively work and communicate with all levels of internal and external staff
-Must be committed to a customer service philosophy
- Requires superior computer skills, i.e., MS Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, and data mining techniques. Knowledge of automated general ledger system, PeopleSoft, Harvest, MPC, and IDX preferred.
