The Clinical Administrative Support Specialist in the Multiple Myeloma Clinical Research Program is responsible for accurately scheduling standard of care and research required multi-disciplinary provider visits, procedures, infusion room appointments, laboratory testing, radiology and respiratory appointments for numerous complex research protocols in accordance with protocol and clinical trial billing requirements, and department scheduling guidelines. This position facilitates all aspects of care for patients enrolled on Multiple Myeloma clinical trials and requires clinical, operational and regulatory knowledge of standard of care and protocol required procedures for this population. It requires direct communication with patients and their families and extensive interaction with physicians, nurses, clinical administrative staff and research staff associated with in-house studies, grant-funded studies and industry-sponsored clinical trials. Responsible for reviewing protocol documents and generating scheduling templates. May provide general administrative support and coordination for all aspects of patient care including prescription refillprocessing, document preparation, and data entry.
Associates degree and/or 2-4 years of equivalent experience required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience working in a medical or customer service setting preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Excellent organization and communication skills required. Strong interpersonal skills, ability to effectively interact with all levels of staff and external contacts. Must be detail oriented, have the ability to follow-through and to effectively manage time and prioritize workload. Must practice discretion and adhere to hospital confidentiality guidelines at all times. Must have computer skills including the use of Microsoft office.
