The AAU (Adolescent Assessment Unit) is a 14 bed secure psychiatric unit providing care for the adolescent between the ages of 12 and 18. The unit is located in the Cambridge Hospital. A multi-disciplinary approach is used to provide patient and family centered care. A continued emphasis on restraint reduction is ongoing and treatment focus is on assessment, stabilization, and after care treatment planning. The average length of stay is 7 days. Qualifications/Experience: Current MA RN licensure and BLS is required. BSN required of newly hired candidates. In addition, newly hired candidates are required to successfully complete a job specific agility test. At least two years of recent nursing experience in an Adolescent Psychiatric locked inpatient unit is also required.
