Job Description

Investigates crimes and other violations of Mass Law and Ordinances. Makes arrests and sets up complaints for court when required. Ability to communicate using Modern Technology related to Law Enforcement. Ability to obtain,record and relay information accurately. Escort patients,obsereve and detain patients in crisis. Investigates suspicous individuals and situations. Provide Escorts, assists in escorting deceased patients, generate reports. Observe and detain patients who are in crisis and deemed in need of special services Functions as a team member, participating in follow through or work that needs to be completed from the previous shift or weekend Adheres to attendance and absentisim policy, demonstrates a calm demeanor Provides for the safety and security of all patients, visitors and staff Maintains professional competency by staying up-to-date on the changing trends of law enforcement procedures and practicies. Complies with organizational and departmental policies,understands and demonstrates competency in all duties Secure and Patrol Alliance Properties on foot and/ or in a radio equipped patrol vehicle Performs the duties and responsibilities of a Massachussetts Special State Police Officer, provides operational supervision on assigned shifts Reviews and approves reports during assigned shift. counsels and recommends corrective action as appropriate Recognize and recommends Officers for acknowledgement of commendable actions Monitors attendance,shift swaps,overtime policies and procedures. Reports any concerns to the Lieutenant Inspect Officers for appearence,readiness and preperation for the shift May perform functions of the ''Campus Security Officer'' under the Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) Two years of college education in law enforcewment, security or related field and completetion of a basic law enforcement training academy. Three years prior experience as a law enforcement officer Considerable knowledge of security and Law enforcement practices. Ability to produce a concise, accurate,well written report.
