Under the direction of the Site Manager the Patient Access Associate will be responsible to register patients for hospital services using the Hospital Information System. Excellent customer service skills, knowledge of third party billing requirements and effective communication skills will ensure this process is completed in a timely manner. Equally important is the ability to manage multiple tasks, work independently with minimal processing errors. Maintains and accuracy rate of 95-100% by remaining current with registration procedures, ensures accurate spelling of medical terms. Ensures productivity standards are consistently met. Level of knowledge equivalent to Associates degree in related field. Knowledge of insurance plan requirements, medical terminology and PC knowledge. Exceptional customer service skills are critical. Good interpersonal, organizational communication skills; both verbal and written. Ability to prioritize and respond effectively to multiple and /or changing job expectations.
