Under the direction of the Vice President for Education, the Assistant Director participates in the development, organization, implementation and evaluation of the curriculum, and assists in the overall administration of the Program according to its philosophy and goals, the criteria of the ACEN and Regulations of the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing. The Assistant Director acts as a liaison among students, faculty, administration and affiliating agencies in the assigned Division, and assumes all responsibilities of a Course Coordinator. This is a position that requires prior leadership experience at the Coordinator, Director or Assistant Dean level. Knowledge of nursing program administration requirements and standardized testing preferred. A MSN is required. Doctorate in Nursing or enrollment in Doctoral Program is expected.
Requires management skills and five years of progressively responsible nursing experience, including a minimum of two years clinical experience and two years teaching experience within the past five years. Evidence of clinical competence in area of clinical instruction required.
Demonstrated administrative, management and interpersonal skills in coordinating, directing and supporting the faculty and students.
