Performs a wide variety of hospital third party insurance and patient collection functions including review, analysis, billing, adjusting, and submission of claims to third party carriers. Also, responsible for timely and accurate follow-up/response to third party and patient inquiries. Excellent customer service skills required. Effective organization and time utilization skills required due to the high quantity and quality of work required.
Accurate computer keyboard skills; ability to use various computer software/systems. Effective oral and written communication skills are essential as staff must be able to interpret third party insurance requirements and detailed account transactions to patients and other third parties. Ability to learn and apply procedural guidelines and solicit assistance when situations arise that deviate from the norm. Take and pass Patient Accounting Test administered by Patient Accounts Department (85% or better).
40 hpw; Monday-Friday, Days (8-hr shifts) holidays as needed
