Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provides strategic leadership and oversight to the continuum of Perioperative services, Anesthesia Services, Endoscopy Services, Pain Management Center, Vein Center and Sterile Processing Services to accomplish sustained profitable growth in all areas of responsibility.
Develops and implements initiatives to expand and maximize the effectiveness of the Services including targeted performance improvement initiatives for all areas.
Promotes the development and implementation of best practices and the cultivation of a highly efficient patient flow process.
Collaborates with the nursing and medical staff leadership structure on issues related to service delivery, technology and equipment, capital planning, revenue generation and enhancement and all other related administrative matters.
Coordinates resources to meet patient care demands. Ensures programs and services are in compliance with hospital and corporate policies as well as federal, state and local agency regulations.
Evaluates the orientation and performance of new employees at scheduled evaluation meetings and provides timely feedback to employees.
Supports instructors from schools of education to provide for student learning opportunities.
Ensures timely data collection, analysis of information and operational response to such information including but not limited to: payroll, FTE budget, operational budgets, patient/family satisfaction and evidence based clinically effective quality outcome measures. Demonstrates business acumen.
Responsible for annual planning relative to service line and integration with organization's strategic plan.
Recognizes market and environmental issues, as well as industry trends, and plans accordingly.
Knowledgeable about day-to-day operations; appropriately delegates and prioritizes in order to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ensures time schedules result in proper coverage for all shifts, including on-call coverage.
Facilitates intra and inter departmental collaboration with staff, physicians, volunteers and vendors to promote the overall success of the departments and the Organization.
Actively participates in hospital-wide quality improvement process activities.
Serves on/chairs hospital-wide committees, fostering collaboration and role modeling for effective and accountable leadership.

Several years progressively responsible managerial, administrative and leadership experience. Two years' experience in a leadership position in surgical services.
Solid background in planning, organizing and supervising
Proven leadership experience, demonstrated problem solver.
Recent experience/knowledge of the latest, state-of-the-art surgical equipment/technology/procedures.
Working knowledge of financial reports including operational/capital budgets with proven ability to create and
manage annual budgets.
Demonstrated skill in identifying, utilizing and scheduling staff.
Excellent interpersonal skills and effective communication (oral and written) abilities.
Exceptional customer service
Demonstrated ability to handle crisis situations in an effective, prompt, precise and professional manner.
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
B.S. in Nursing required. M.S. in Nursing or related field required.
Current R.N. license in Massachusetts.
BLS Certification ACLS Certification
Specialty Certification (A.O.R.N.) and CCST preferred
