Scientist -- Molecular Biology Core Facilities: Genomics
The Molecular Biology Core facilities (MBCF) is accepting applications for a scientist to develop Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) samples preparation methods. Responsibilities will include evaluating cutting-edge nucleic acid extraction and NGS library prep methodologies, protocol optimization, writing SOPs and training other MBCF technologists. The scientist will also be charged with deploying high-throughput automated methods on a Biomek liquid handling platform.
Demonstrated success in technical proficiency, scientific creativity, collaboration with others and independent thought. Works on problems of diverse scope in which analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
Qualified individuals will have a PhD or M.S. and a minimum of 3-5 years of experience working with Illumina NGS, RNAseq, FFPE derived samples, and automation.
