This position will assist scientists in performing scientific research, development and/or clinical tasks of varying complexity. In general, this position will assist in the set up, operation and maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment, monitoring experiments, making observations and calculating and recording results.
The Anderson lab is working on cancer immunotherapy. We are seeking a highly-motivated Research Technician who will be responsible for tissue culture work, in vitro cells analysis and assisting lab works, analyses and scientific writing. Primary responsibility includes performing immunology related various biological assays, analyzing patients samples and tumor-specific effector cells function, and assisting with other lab tasks as needed. This involves the skill to work in sterile condition, freezing/thawing primary cells and cell lines, preparation of cells and experiments for screening and validating novel biologically-based drugs. Additional responsibilities include processing patient peripheral blood and bone marrow samples. Expertise in evaluation of drug efficacy studies in animal models, bioinformatics and statistics is helpful. The successful candidate will be able to work flexible hours in order to accommodate experimental needs, organized, and a team player.
A minimum of a Master's Degree is required, preferably in the Immunology or Biological Science. Experience in biological / immune assays and flow cytometry and analysis (DIVA, FLOWJO) is highly preferred. The ideal candidate should be highly motivated, goal-oriented, dedicated, and possess excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
