This position will assist scientists in performing scientific research, development and/or clinical tasks of varying complexity. In general, this position will assist in the set up, operation and maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment, monitoring experiments, making observations and calculating and recording results.
We are seeking for a motivated scientist to help discover and validate the next generation of treatments for melanoma. The successful candidate will be predominantly involved in molecular and cellular biology experiments but may require work with rodent models of melanoma. He or she may have limited involvement in lab management, including ordering, maintaining laboratory equipment and preparing reagents and solutions for the laboratory.
This exciting opportunity includes the opportunity to work closely with a junior faculty member, who will be their supervisor and mentor; participation in formal and informal presentations of results to staff; and sharing of authorship in publications.

Requirements and Qualifications:
1. A BA/BS in biology or a related field, preferably with at least six months of full-time laboratory experience in molecular and cellular biology or biochemistry.
2. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
3. Specific expertise in most molecular biology techniques, such as:
Tissue culture of human cancer cells DNA/RNA extraction and analysis such as PCR, quantitative PCR, Protein extraction and analysis such as immunoprecipitation and immunobloting, DNA Cloning.
4. Experience in mouse models, including mouse genotype and mouse colony maintenance preferred.
