Cardiac Monitor Technician, all shifts

Job Description

Records and processes EKG monitor strips for defined cardiac patient populations. Assures proper placement and maintenance of all monitoring equipment
Daily activities are coordinated by the charge nurse
Independently works with patient and family centered care teams to insure all business functions related to processing patient information, managing documentation, organizing patient medical record and facilitating smooth unit operations
Files appropriate patient reports and other information for their records
Facilitates communication among staff, relaying messages/information
Facilitates bed management and patient throughput on unit
Performs functions necessary to process direct admissions to the unit
Acts as receptionist for visitors to unit and also as a business partner to the department and clincal staff
Orients patients and families to the unit, answering routine questions

What you will need:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree preferred.
Experience/Education in the following encouraged to apply: Exercise Physiology
Exercise Science

Previous clerical and customer service.
Computer literate, good interpersonal skills.
Critical thinking skills with proficient math aptitude.
Ability to organize and prioritize workload in a fast paced environment.
OAS Gold Training, Conflict Resolution Training, Delegation Training, Team Training
Computer testing will be required for typing, alpha numeric and numeric data entry

Must take and pass required dysrythmia couse within 6 weeks of hire.

Operations Associate/Monitor Technician I will have no acute care experience

Operations Associate/Monitor Technician II must have at least one year of acute care experience or one year of experience in specialty specific setting

Operations Associate/Monitor Technician III must have at least three years of acute care experience with at least one year as Level II OA/MT at BMC. Meets all Level I and II requirements and skills.

What you need to know:

Openings may be available full time, part time and per diem

Day shift hours are 7a-7:30pm, or 6a-6:30p

Night shift hours are 7pm to 7:30am, or 6p-6:30a

Full time requires 3 shifts per week

Part time requires 2 shifts per week

Per diem can be day or night shifts, as needed

Schedule includes weekends and holidays

Must be able to attend a 4 day orientation upon starting (Monday thru Thursday, 8-4)
