Manages patient flow for clinicians. Determines urgency and priority of walk in and add on patients, patient consults, etc. Manages clinicians daily schedules to expedite care and maximize clinical time. Coordinates the practice when clinicians are not available, ensuring that telephone calls are triaged appropriately and clinicians receive necessary information.
Monitors practice issues and problems and identify and solve concerns regarding patient satisfaction, patient flow, and compliance with procedures and guidelines. Advocates for patients, as appropriate. Assists in resolving patients concerns.
Greets and escorts patients to treatment offices. Obtains relevant information and takes vital signs: blood pressure, temperature, pulse, weight, and respirations. Inputs pertinent clinical information into medical record.
Assists clinicians with clinical procedures and/or additional tests specific to the department. May advise patient of preparation required for exam or additional testing specific to the department and keeps patients informed of visit status, unforeseen delays and other relevant information.
Ensures that exam rooms are prepared and/or maintained. Cleans and/or maintains supplies and equipment.
Provides clerical/office support as necessary.
Order all medical supplies and maintain inventory.
Retrieve calls including requests for prescriptions and complete refills as needed.
Responds to patient calls as directed by prescriber.
Performs other work related duties as assigned or requested by manager.
Ability to read write and communicate in English.
High school Diploma or GED.
Associates Degree in medical assisting or graduate of certificate program or LPN.
Nationally Certified Medical Assistant or Licensed LPN in the state of Massachusetts.
Minimum of two years prior experience in a clinical setting.
Strong interpersonal, customer service, time management, computer, and organizational skills required.
