Provides direct supervision for the Clinical Social Workers and other master level clinical disciplines employed by Boston Medical Center in the Department of Psychiatry in our Integrative Behavioral Health Program. Accountable for hiring, scheduling, supervising and completing performance appraisal process of all masters level clinical staff. Oversees the coordination of special projects and programs within the department. Will also utilize evidence based clinical techniques and theory, to consult on, assess, and intervene with high-risk patients and their families regarding the impact/amelioration of emotional and social problems. Provides direct clinical care through individual, couples, family and group therapy sessions.Masters degree in Social Work required and a minimum of 3-5 years full-time work experience as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker.
Licensure to practice social worker in the state of Massachusetts, required.
Knowledge of community resources and agencies relative to health, illness, and disability.
Ability to mentor, guide and motivate direct reports through demonstration of best practices and leading by example.
Advanced interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with various healthcare professionals, to develop and maintain effective therapeutic relationships with patients and families, and to supervise graduate students.
Must be comfortable in a fast paced and dynamic work environment (sense of humor is valued).
Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team.
Cultural sensitivity and comfort with a wide range of racial and ethnic populations.
Excellent English communication skills (oral and written). Bilingual or multi-lingual skills (beyond that of English) appropriate to the patient population served is a plus.
Demonstrated technical competency using standard hospital computer systems including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), web browsers, and hospital registration systems (such as, SDK, Logician, etc.).
