Under the direction of the Operating Room Nurse Manager, the Clinical Office Coordinator/Surgical Scheduler works closely with our medical team scheduling surgical patients.
Bilingual-Spanish/English speaking required for this role.
Responsible for admission/surgical scheduling through the Cerner scheduling system; notifies appropriate staff of any schedule changes; Ensures patient demographic/financial information is complete.
Confirms accuracy of patient diagnosis, as well as scheduled procedures, patient type and expected length of stay.
Schedules operating room times for physicians; prepares centralized scheduling report. Attends weekly Plastics/Acute clinics and presents patient reports at WRAP meetings. Will also cross train to perform Patient Registration functions.
Other Administrative office duties are required as needed in this role.
Bi-lingual, English/Spanish. Three years plus medical secretarial experience; prior Operating Room scheduling/admissions experience in a hospital/medical setting.
Familiar with medical terminology; excellent time management, organizational and customer service skills with the ability to prioritize. Proficiency with the Microsoft office suite.
This is a full-time, 40 hours, weekday position
